Senior Celebration Evening Monday 25th March 2019
On the evening of Monday 25th March 2019 70 learners and over 130 parents, carers, staff and friends attended the Senior Celebration Evening. Awards were issued for all National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher courses, these awards being based on academic performance in the last round of school exams and there were also eight special awards for excellence in Art & Design, Maths and Chemistry as well as the Rectors Special award for those learners who gain five Highers at A in one sitting during S5.
Mr Laurence Findlay, Director of Education and Children’s Services for Aberdeenshire Council was guest of honour and spoke fondly of his time as both a former pupil and member of staff at Fraserburgh. He delivered an inspirational message for the assembled award winners. Mr Chris Sojka also attended on behalf of the University of Aberdeen and presented the inaugural University of Aberdeen Principal’s awards to two senior learners who have shown a dedication in their pursuit of a University education.
During the award ceremony, all present were entertained by school pupils who performed to the highest of standards their own original composition pieces on guitar and bagpipes as well as vocal performances of modern contemporary songs.
The evening ended with refreshments and photo opportunities for the award winners and their families. Please find undernoted the programme which lists all the prize winners.
